These types of doors are used for narrow entrances and passageways where there is the problem of space constraint. It consists of two leaves which are each split into two vertically. These halves are hinged together, allowing each leaf to fold in the middle.  When opened, the leaves hung on the door frame swing back, and the inner halves of each leaf fold back against those hinged to the door frame.
